An Idea is Born
Susan Klinsport, founder and CEO of IntelliDent Products, turned an everyday dilemma into a practical solution for improving oral hygiene. The inspiration struck during a visit from her father, who mentioned his frustration with keeping his toothbrush clean while traveling. At that moment, Klinsport, equipped with materials for another project, had a flash of insight—and an idea was born. With a strong background in manufacturing and accounting, and a drive to support her family as a single mom, she set out to develop a new product, the IntelliDent Toothbrush Shield.

Finding The Right Fabrics
Klinsport began research on the right materials to use for her invention, and sought the expertise of an absorbency expert, a former Kimberly-Clark scientist and one of the known inventors of Huggies diapers. He helped Klinsport identify the ideal material for her product. They utilized an advanced, American-made non-woven fabric that wicks away moisture, doesn't contain any glues, dies, or adhesives, and that is recyclable and biodegradable. The inside layer absorbs moisture and the outer layer acts like a surgical mask for your toothbrush. Together, the fabric shield provides a 99% effective defense against airborne and surface bacteria. And the IntelliDent Toothbrush Shield was born, a simple yet highly effective solution that addresses the often-overlooked problem of bacteria-laden toothbrushes.

Our Impact
Since its launch, the IntelliDent Toothbrush Shield has been awarded a patent, endorsed by celebrity dentist Dr. Gerry Curatola, and even featured on a Times Square Electronic Billboard. Through commercial partnerships and donations, Toothbrush Shields are making their way into the much-needed institutional markets (hospitals and long-term healthcare facilities) to support cancer patients and people with compromised immune systems.

Our Commitment to Giving Back
Over the years, IntelliDent has donated thousands of Toothbrush Shields to organizations providing free oral care kits for adult and pediatric cancer patients nationwide. These kits provide critical support for individuals with compromised immune systems, offering added protection against bacteria and promoting safer, more hygienic oral care practices.

Product Expansion
From humble beginnings, Klinsport’s grassroots efforts grew into a thriving enterprise by initially selling its products in retail stores including CVS and Walgreens. Recognizing the growing shift to digital marketplaces, Klinsport transitioned its sales strategy to include major online platforms, with products now available through Amazon and the Walmart online marketplace. Building on this success, Klinsport developed the IntelliDent Mouthguard Shield, designed for the sanitary protection of mouthguards, retainers, and other oral dental devices, further expanding its commitment to innovative oral care solutions.
